The House of Falangists was built in Mansourieh el Metn in the early seventies during the mandate
of its President Gerges Costa El Hage and with the participation of many comrades.
When War erupted in 1975 an enormous number of militant joined the party to defend their country. Many died. In order to immortalize their memory, a statute was installed at the entry of the town as a symbol of their courage and sacrifices. The Square was named after them “ The Square of Martyrs” and it was inaugurated in the 25th of September 1977.
In 1981, a larger house was built wide enough to seat a bigger number of militants.
The Presidency of the Kataëb Party was alternately in the hands of :
Rizkallah Nagib El Hage 1960-1975
Gerges Costa El Hage 1975-1981
Hany El Hamouche 1981-1983
Nabil Mikel El Hage 1983-1986
William Farid KhouryEl Hage1986-1988
Gerges Costa El Hage 1988-1990
Hany El Hamouche 2006
Najib El Hamouche 2007 -2009
The President of the Party Gerges Costa El Hage strove to build this house and its square to honor the memory of our brave martyrs.
This is dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of Kataëb and to all the civilians who died during the war.
